A film treatment by Paulo Engler

The Concept

Multiple delivery drivers, in full uniform, helmets and box backpacks, act as mom. They try to do more than drop off a box. They try hard, but something is always missing.

Then mom appears with a real home-cooked plate, made with Puck. Everything changes. Bringing the food isn't enough. Only she makes it special.

Structure

We follow a day in the life of one kid. Every scene opens on their deadpan face, as a delivery driver tries to fill his mother's role. On the final reveal, that face breaks into a smile.

Script

Scene 1

Bedtime Story

Driver reads a bedtime story, voice muffled through his helmet strap.

Scene 2

Bike Lesson

Driver "teaches" the kid to ride by having them balance on his motorcycle instead of a bicycle.

Scene 3

Braided Hair

Driver braids the kid's hair, gloves making it clumsy. Cut to the result: lopsided, already falling apart.

Scene 4

School Play

Driver sits in the audience, helmet still on,
blocking the view of the parent seated behind him.

Scene 5

The Reveal — Mom

Same device, camera pans. This time it's mom, giving a plate of home-cooked food with a smile drawn on it. The kid, deadpan through every driver scene, finally smiles before she's even fully in frame.
